RE: Follow-up Interview: Doug Zimmerman
Nov. 29, 2011
Constable Berkopp returned to the home of Doug Zimmerman for a follow-up interview. Under pressure from his parents, Doug finally admitted that he and his friends were indeed at Mr. Forsythe’s house on the afternoon of Sunday, November 27.
Cnst. Berkopp:
So it was you and your friends who broke into Mr. Forsythe’s home?
Doug Zimmerman:
No. It wasn’t us. Honest.
Mr. Zimmerman:
Stop being evasive, Doug. If it wasn’t you, why were you there?
Doug Zimmerman:
I knew it was going to happen and wanted to watch. But I just stayed in the garden. I swear I wasn’t involved.
Cnst. Berkopp:
If you knew what was going to happen and didn’t do anything to stop or report the crime, you were very much involved, Doug. You’re an accessory to the crime, and that’s just as bad as doing it.
Doug Zimmerman:
Listen…if you want to know who stole the laptop, you should probably talk to Tucker.
